Mike Morrison assumed ownership of GreenSpeed Karting in September 2008, from Marc Stehle and Ted Greenwood. Initially starting out in search of a unique racing experience with a "professionally operated" team - Mike fell short in his search and decided instead to create one. Mike's vision was to create a race team that was operated like a professional team, with drivers / parents who have aspirations for competition at North American levels, and beyond. Mike believed that there were other drivers & parents who had aspirations beyond club level racing, and who wanted to focus on competition at Regional and North American levels, and beyond. Mike's philosophy for GreenSpeed was to hire people who were a lot more kart smart than he was…and get out of their way. Mike's role with GreenSpeed is to develop and oversee the GreenSpeed Team concept and operating model and to manage the business affairs of the team.

| Something you don't know about me: | I have never raced anything in my life. I was an avid hockey and lacrosse player growing up in Toronto and in my teens, played hockey for the Humber Valley Hawks of the MTHL (now the GTHL) and for the Rexdale Warriors AA lacrosse team. I played on championship hockey teams as both a goalie, as well as a centre and had the opportunity to compete internationally playing against Finland’s national hockey team at age 16. Played with former NHLer’s including Scott Mellanby, Rob Murray, and Jim Paek. |
